TIPS FOR YOUR LAWN
Grass should be kept at a length of 2 ½” – 3” long.
Make sure that you have your mower blades sharpened; clean cut grass blades look a lot better than grass blades that are torn.
When watering your lawn, try to do it early in the morning. Between 4 a.m. and 6 a.m. is ideal. The goal is for the soil to absorb what it needs and then sun the will evaporate the rest. If the water just sits there for long periods of time it promotes fungus.
A Spring aeration will help strengthen your lawn and help with the overall health of your turf. Also, it helps the soil retain more water.
Having a good balanced fertilizer along with a broadleaf weed control and a pre-emergent for weeds put down is the BEST that you can do for your lawn in the Spring. This will pop your lawn out of dormancy and give it a nice green hue, while killing any weeds that you have present and preventing any unwanted weeds and grasses such as crabgrass and spurge.
